oh ok, I've tried something very similar recently,and I had trouble finding nice shapes.

Well i like to use a square or round brush, no dynamics or anything and just block in big shapes. Then erase out areas like you're chipping away at a block of stone or something. Also when i've sketched about 10 i begin to mix and match. Take an arm from one, add a leg from another and before you know it you have 20 thumbnails. You don't have to worry to much about presentation, just have fun :D

I saw this and decided to play a game with it (I enjoyed myself, lol)! Out of the colored ones at the top, I tried to see if I could find their matching silhouettes. I had trouble with the little green one on the right, until I realized it's basically the red one above it with two less arms. Still not sure about the cyan one on the far right, but did you use the silhouette from the golem of the same color that's 3 to the left?
